NASA’s Project NEEMO

NASA’s Project NEEMO

Tethon 3D worked with NASA to develop lunar and martian materials. These materials were used for NEEMO (NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations).  This mission sends groups of astronauts, engineers and scientists to live in Aquarius, the world’s only undersea research station, for up to three weeks at a time.  The Aquarius habitat and its surroundings provide a convincing analog for space exploration.

Tethon 3D used their proprietary powder binder jetting system to print parts. Following sintering at Tethon 3D’s facility the parts were then used underwater for aquanaut training.
