Who is Tethon 3D?
“Tethon” is the word for White Buffalo in the language of the Omaha tribe of Native Americans. White Buffaloes exist in nature, though rare.
Tethon 3D was founded in Omaha, Nebraska. The company is a corporate member of NCECA and the American Ceramic Society.
Tethon 3D’s Guidelines for 3D Printing in Ceramic
Failure to follow these guidelines may cause decreased accuracy in replication of your 3D design.
Maximum Bounding Box = 9 x 7 x 12.5 inches
Minimum Supporting Wall Thickness If object’s longest dimension is:
76-101mm (3-4 inches) = 3mm (0.11 inches)
101-127mm (4-5 inches) – 4mm (0.16 inches)
127-152mm (5-6 inches) = 5mm (0.2 inches)
152-178mm (6-7 inches) = 6mm (0.24 inches)
178-203mm (7-8 inches) = 7mm (0.28 inches)
Full scale print = 8mm (0.32 inches)
Wall thickness can vary +/- 1mm on models greater than 7 inches (thicker sections should not be above thinner sections. The wall thickness should vary from thicker at the bottom to thinner at the top. Larger forms may this technique to give the appearance of a thinner edge).
Maximum Wall Thickness = 20mm
Minimum Embossed Detail = 1.5mm
Minimum Engraved Detail = 2mm deep and wide
Minimum Loose Powder Escape holes = 10-15mm (can be filled later, if necessary).
Model with arches instead of right angles.
Model concave bottoms, rather than flat surfaces.
